    WILLARD WAYNE “WILL” PEACOCK, age 81, of Marietta, GA, died Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.

    Will was survived by his wife of 61 years, Alice Ross Peacock, his high school sweetheart; 3 sons – Shaun Peacock (Karen) of Woodstock, David Wayne Peacock of Atlanta, and Duron Peacock (Kimberly) of Acworth; 9 grandchildren – Lauren Peacock, Hunter Peacock, Tyler Peacock, Morgan Peacock, Chaz Giles, Cameron Giles, Chelsea Giles, Emma Peacock, and Will Peacock; 2 sisters-in-Law – Gladys Studstill Peacock of Eastman and Myrna Ross Allen of Chester; also several nieces and nephews. He was the youngest son of the late Nina Lamb Peacock and Ernest W. Peacock and was preceded in death by his brother, Curtis H. Peacock.

    Will was a native of Eastman GA, of the Christian faith, and a 1957 graduate of Dodge County High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. After completion of his military service, he pursued higher education at Georgia State University and was a member of Delta Sigma Pi Fraternity. He graduated from Georgia State in 1970 with a degree in Actuarial Science and later became an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society where he earned his ACAS, MAAA designation. He was a successful entrepreneur who, along with his brother, Curtis Peacock, founded CURT-WILL, a mobile home repair and electrical distribution company. Will was a Vice-President at Cotton States Insurance, where he headed up the Actuarial Science department. He later founded Insurance Industry Consultants, Inc., an actuarial and insurance consulting firm, where he was owner/CEO until he retired.

    Will pursued his passion for aeronautics that was cultivated while in the Navy. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and the Georgia Air National Guard. He loved flying, was an avid private pilot owning several planes during his lifetime. Will also enjoyed golfing, boating, investing and spending time with his family and friends. He was a dedicated father and a proud grandfather.  

    The family may be contacted at the Peacock residence, 398 Indian Hills Trail, Marietta and will receive friends at Southerland Funeral Chapel Saturday, November 9 from 1:00PM-2:00PM with the memorial service immediately following at 2:00 PM. Reverend Tom Black will be officiating. Interment will be at the Peacock Family Cemetery at a later date. Flowers can be sent to Southerland Funeral Chapel or donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
