MR. JOHN WESLEY McCRANIE, age 75, of Eastman, GA, died Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Atrium Navicent Health in Macon, GA.

 Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, January 11, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Fred Parker and Dr. Dwaine Dunn officiating, with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.

 Wesley was born in Orlando, FL and raised in Eastman, GA. He was a graduate of Dodge County High School, a member of Antioch #1 Baptist Church, and a manufacturing employee at Goody’s Manufacturing for over fifteen years. He also worked at Gillman Paper Company for several years. He was a dedicated father and was a loving grandfather who enjoyed fishing, racing, and watching westerns, especially Gunsmoke, on T.V, and was an avid Georgia Bulldog’s fan. Wesley was the son of the late Marie Eudele Brown Milner and Johnnie McCranie and was preceded in death by his Wife, Merle Hemphill McCranie, Stepdaughter, Michelle English, Infant Grandson, John Gavin McCranie, Stepfather, Fred Milner, Sisters, Loraine McCranie Alexander and Patsy Milner Noceito, and Nephew, Shawn Alexander.

 He is survived by his Son – Brad McCranie (Amy) of Cochran, GA; Grandchildren – Eva Grace McCranie, John Wesley Sheffield, both of Cochran, GA, Johnathon Smith (Jocelyn White) of Eastman, GA, and Catlin Smith (Nick) of Gray, GA; Great-Granddaughter – Beckett Smith of Gray, GA; Brother – Gene Helms (Sandra) of Warner Robins, GA; Nieces and Nephews – Kent Alexander, Jimmy Alexander, Jr., Tammy Rawlings, and Sonya Williams, and Heather Hickman; Several Cousins and Extended Family Members including, Janice and Eddie Driggers of Eastman, GA.

 The family may be contacted at the McCranie residence, 174 Whiggum Rd., Cochran, GA, 31014, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00PM-2:00PM Thursday, January 11.
