MR. SIDNEY WAYNE SHEFFIELD, age 60, of Eastman, GA, died Monday, May 16, 2022, at Dodge County Hospital.

Wayne was born in Chauncey in 1961, of the Baptist Faith, attended Dodge County High School, and later went back and got his GED in the early 2000s. After high school, he went to work as a delivery man for Pepsi, Inc. in McRae for over five years before later going to work for Roper, Inc in McRae as a security guard for over ten years. He later worked at Fleetwood Mobile Homes in Broxton in the late 1990s and before working as a welder for an HVAC company in Dooly County for several years. He went to work at Minick’s Pizza in 2011 until going to work at Attaway’s Side Track in 2014 as a maintenance employee, where stayed until retiring in 2020. Wayne was a dedicated husband and a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was an avid animal lover and enjoyed collecting things, especially John Deere items. He loved helping others in need, listening to country music on the family porch, and enjoyed working in his garden. He was highly creative and made the best use of what he had. Wayne was the son of the late Henry A. Sheffield and Mildred Smith Parker and was preceded in death by a Daughter, Lindsay Sheffield.
He is survived by his Wife of 11 years – Carlena Wilkinson Sheffield of Eastman; Daughter – Brittany Dunlap of McRae; 3 Step-Children – Thomas Klest (Gloria) of Illinois, Chris Klest of Florida, and Cheryl Klest of Alabama; 9 Grandchildren – Matthew Dunlap, Christian Williams, Carly Williams, Jayden Sheffield, Rebecca Gabby, Broly Putman, Noah Klest, David Klest, and Lily Klest; Sister – Cindy S. Hill (Troy) of Eastman; 2 Brothers – Tony Sheffield of New Smyrna, FL and Tommy Sheffield (Shanna) of Eastman; Brother-in-law – Terry Wilkinson of Alabama; Sisters-in-law – Elaine Routh (Doug) of Missouri and Lisa Johnson (Steve) of San Antonio, TX; Several Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces, and Great-Nephews.
