MRS. WANDA DOWDY BROWN, age 64, of Dublin, GA, died Sunday, November 13, 2022, at her residence.

 Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Thursday, November 17, at Hopewell Baptist Church, with Rev. Gerald Conley and Rev. Brandon Gross officiating, with interment in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.

 Wanda was born in Perry, GA, of the Baptist Faith, and a former event coordinator at the State Park in McRae. She was funny and witty person who had a great sense of humor and enjoyed laughing as much as making others laugh with her dark sense of humor. Her joy was her grandchildren and her great-grandson. She enjoyed spending countless hours with them and was proud of all their accomplishments. She loved gardening, her flowers, and cooking. Most of all, she enjoyed the time she got to spend with her best friend and soul mate, her husband, who she enjoyed taking care of and the life they were able to share together. Wanda was the daughter of the late Lorell Keene Dowdy Calhoun and Weldon H. Dowdy and was preceded in death by her Siblings, James Thomas Dowdy, Michael Dowdy, Faye Dowdy Bohannon, and Ronnie Dowdy.

 She is survived by her Husband of 28 years – Gary Brown of Dublin; Daughter – Samantha Zuniga (Col. Ray Zuniga, Retired) of Colorado Springs, CO; 4 Grandchildren – Mercer Zuniga (Callie) of Boulder, CO, Isabella Zuniga, Nicholas Zuniga, and Ethan Zuniga, all of Colorado Springs, CO; Great-Grandson – Augustine Zuniga of Boulder, CO; 4 Sisters – Karen Luther (Mitch) of Abbeville, Marilyn Burch (Wilbur) of Eastman, Carlene Burch (Loren Mixon) of Vienna, and Brenda Phillip of Seville; 2 Brothers – David Dowdy and Kenneth Dowdy, both of Rhine; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces, and Great-Nephews; 2 Aunts – Shirley Dix of Rhine and Martha Perkins of Empire; Numerous Cousins and Friends.

 The family will receive friends in Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home from 5:00PM-7:00PM Wednesday, November 16.
