Obituary for Walter Singletary

MR. WALTER WILLIAM SINGLETARY, age 48, of Six Mile, SC and formerly of Eastman, GA, passed away on September 30, 2026, at his residence. 

 Funeral Services will be held at 3:00PM Saturday, October 3, in Southerland Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Cole Yawn officiating, with interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

 Walter was born on February 20, 1978, in McRae, GA and was of the Christian faith. He attended Dodge County High School and received his Aircraft Structural Technology Degree from Heart of Georgia Technical College. After completing his degree, Walter worked several years as a civil service employee at Robins Air Force Base. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was a family man who loved gardening, growing vegetables and flowers, raising chickens, and working in his yard. He enjoyed fishing, grilling, and hanging out with family and friends. 

 Walter was preceded in death by his parents, William Edward Singletary and Cathy Hansen, infant brother, William Edward Singletary, and his sister, Tammy Singletary.

 Walter is survived by his Wife of 14 years – Julie Ann Oneal Singletary of Six Mile, SC; Son – Bud Singletary (Brianna) of Savannah, GA; Daughters – Marisa Jones (Jacob) of Chester, GA, and Maria Singletary (Dylan Yawn) of Savannah, GA; Several Stepchildren; Grandchildren – Myles Jones, Kaisen Jones, Dalton Cole Yawn; Brother – Daniel “Danny” Singletary of Eastman; Sister - Lisa Craig of Charleston, SC; Nieces and Nephews – Jessie Meadows (Carter) of Swainsboro, GA, Dustin Daniel Singletary (Rachael) of Eastman, GA, Laila Craig of Charleston, SC, Shane Craig of Charleston, SC; Aunt – Ann S. Rawls (Buddy) of Macon, GA; Several Cousins

 The family will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 2:00PM-3:00PM Saturday, October 3.
