MR. W. F. “CRICKET” ATKINSON, age 83, of Eastman, GA, died, Sunday, April 25, 2021 at his residence.

 Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Orphans Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Cook and Mr. Victor Villegas officiating.

 Mr. Atkinson was born and raised in Eastman and was of the Methodist Faith. He was a graduate and the 1956 class president of Dodge High School. After school he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Hunter Air Force Base in Savannah. During his time in service, he married and served his country proudly for 4 years. The family later moved to Fernandina Beach, FL where he worked in the local paper mill for several years before returning to Eastman. He worked over 30 years civil service at Robins Air Force Base as an electronics mechanic before retiring in 1994. Mr. Atkinson was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and working in his yard. He was the son of the late Willie Frank Atkinson and Lizzie Maude Spivey Cummins and is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Faye Bland Atkinson, brother, Sonny Atkinson and his faithful canine companion, Clyde.

 Survivors: 2 Sons – Mark Atkinson and Keith Atkinson (Denise), both of Eastman; 2 Grandchildren – Noah Atkinson (Hannah) of Valdosta and Kaleigh Grantham (Greg) of Cochran; 3 Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews;  Caregiver - Krystal Dowdy.

 The family requests contributions to Hospice Care Options Foundation, 718 Medical Center Drive, Eastman, GA 31023.
