MR. WILLIE ARTHUR “W.A.” HILLIARD, age 83, of Eastman, GA, died Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Eastman Healthcare and Rehab.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, November 21, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Bill Jones and Rev. Chuck Taylor officiating.
W.A. was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Rhine, GA, and a retired truck driver for Wal-Mart, Inc. for many years. In his earlier years, he was a former member of the Steel Workers Union. W.A. was the son of the late Claude Bowen Hilliard and Woodrow Hilliard, Sr. and was preceded in death by a Daughter, Chanel Hilliard, Grandson, Cole Hilliard, and 2 Brothers, Woodrow “Junior” Hilliard and Billy Ray Hilliard.
He is survived by his Wife – Dora Scarborough Hilliard of Eastman, GA; Daughter – Kim Pece (Don) of Hoganville, GA; Son – Bruce Hilliard of Sharpsburg, GA; Step-Son – Danny Oxley (Becky) of Gresston, GA; Grandchildren – James O’Neal, Ryan O’Neal, Chris Goodspeed (Courtney), Jon Erik Harkins (Jess), Ashley Cordell, Dan Oxley (Tiffany), and Adam Oxley; Great-Grandchildren – Peyton Cordell, Elijah Bailey, and River Goodspeed; 2 Sisters – Donna Jean Dunagan (Mike) and Betty Faye Hulett, both of Rhine, GA; Brother – Rocky Hilliard (Janice) of Rhine, GA; 2 Sisters-in-law – Judy Boone Williams of Eastman, GA and Patricia Hilliard of Baxley, GA; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
The family may be contacted at the Hilliard residence, 40 Gresston Street, Eastman, and will receive friends in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery from 10:30AM-11:00AM Tuesday, November 21. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Rhine, GA 31077.
