MRS. VIRGINIA HATCHER PRUETT, age 98, of Eastman, GA, died Saturday, August 3, 2019 at her residence.

 Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Monday, August 5, at Zebulon Baptist Church, with Rev. Larry Wilbanks and Rev. Daniel Folds officiating, with interment in Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery.

 Mrs. Pruett was born in Swainsboro, GA, a dedicated member of Zebulon Baptist Church, and a retired textile worker for over 30 years at C & J Manufacturing and Reaves Brothers, Inc. She was a Sunday School teacher for over 70 years at Zebulon Baptist Church, worked as a private sitter for many years, was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a devoted family woman who loved her family deeply. She was an avid gardener and loved to go fishing wither her grandson Randy. Virginia was the daughter of the late Fairbe Suzanne Sheffield Hatcher and Willie Andrew Hatcher, widow of William Lee Pruett, and was preceded in death by a Daughter-in-Law, Maggie G. Pruett, 2 Granddaughters-in-Law, Cathy Pruett and Tammie Jones, and 7 Siblings, Robert Hatcher, Perry Hatcher, James Hatcher, Tom Hatcher, W. A. Hatcher, George Hatcher, and Clara Hatcher.

 Survivors: 2 Sons – Wayne B. Pruett of Eastman and William E. “Buddy” Pruett (Mickie) of Vienna; 9 Grandchildren – Randy Pruett, Michelle P. Bryan (Brad), Dr. Michael Pruett (Candice), Kyle Pruett (Lydia), Megan Davis (Brent), Michael Jones (Brenda), Ken Jones (Gail), Jeff Jones, and Chris Joiner (Tina); 14 Great-Grandchildren; Numerous Nieces and Nephews; Caretaker – Beverly Worthen.

 The family may be contacted at the Pruett residence, 1517 Chester Hwy., Eastman, and will receive friends in Zebulon Baptist Church from 10:00AM-11:00AM Monday, August 5. In addition to flowers the family request contributions be made to Zebulon Baptist Church, 1252 Cochran Hwy., Eastman, GA 31023.
