MRS. VELMA MAE YANCEY SHOUSE-RYALS, age 81, of Eastman, GA, died Thursday, December 10, 2020 at her residence, after a long courageous battle against cancer.

MRS. VELMA MAE YANCEY SHOUSE-RYALS, age 81, of Eastman, GA, died Thursday, December 10, 2020 at her residence, after a long courageous battle against cancer.

 Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, December 13, in Southerland Funeral Chapel with interment in Benevolence Church Cemetery, with Rev. Graton Helms, Mr. Bobby Ryals and Rev. Daniel Folds officiating.

 Mrs. Velma was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a member of Benevolence United Methodist Church, a 1957 graduate Eastman High School, and a retired office coordinator for Coliseum Medical Center for over 23 years. She was a former employee of MBG Office Products for over 14 years, a former bank teller for Georgia Bank & Trust for 6 years and First National Bank for 3 years, and a former employee at Joiner Deer Processing for over 8 years. She enjoyed sewing, reading, puzzles, word search puzzles, cooking, canning fruits and vegetables, keeping up with local activities, and traveling with her husband. Velma was the daughter of the late Bertha Mae Foster Yancey and Charlie Cleveland Yancey, and was preceded in death by her Husband, Edgar S. Shouse, Jr., and 4 Siblings, Aliene Warchak, Christine Bohannon, William George Yancey, and Rueben Thomas Yancey.

 She is survived by her Husband of 6 years – Tommy Ryals of Eastman; 4 Daughters – Gale Shouse Spratt (Tom) of Celina, TX, Brenda Betsill (Ricky) of Orangeburg, SC, Cheryl Williams (Scott) of Portage, PA, and Audrey Spires (Wayne) of Eastman; 2 Step-Daughters – Celena McKinney (Rick) of Chauncey and Pam Peavey (David) of Hawkinsville; 10 Grandchildren – Michael Kitchens (Amanda), Jennifer Mendiola, Richard Betsill, Orrin Williams, Kara Seese (Cory), DeWayne Bishop, Dylan Johnson, Brian McKinney, Caroline Peavy, and Rosemary Peavey; 13 Great-Grandchildren – Joanna Hatfield, Tyler Wood, Christopher Kitchens, Nicholas Kitchens, Emma Gomez, Hannah Betsill, Savannah Betsill, Maddox Williams, Trenton Bishop, Gabby Bishop, Nathan McKinney, Jada McKinney, and Carter McKinney; Great-Great-Grandson – Cutler Hatfield; Sister – Nettie Yancey Justice; Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law – Ida Yancey, Grace Yancey, Lillian Purvis (Clinton), William Ryals (Bernice), Jeanette Hardeman (Russell), Annette Dixon (Dennis), Bobby Joe Ryals (Patricia), Dale Hulett, and Gary Ryals (Cecelia); A host of Niece, Nephews, and Cousins.

 The family may be contacted at the Ryals residence, 1777 Chester Hwy., Eastman. Mrs. Velma will lie-in-state from 2:00PM-4:00PM Saturday, December 12.
