MR. HARRY TRUMAN SHEFFIELD, age 78, of Macon, GA, died Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon, GA.
A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00PM Saturday, September 14, at New Elim Baptist Church, 4368 Hartley Bridge Rd., Macon, GA, with Pastor Johnny Baggett and Pastor Charles Clance officiating. He will be interred at Vilula Baptist Church Cemetery.
Truman was born in Eastman, GA on October 2, 1945, to the late Harpie Wilkerson Sheffield and John Lewis Sheffield. He was a graduate of Dodge County High School, a former courier for Unique Auto Sales in Warner Robins, GA for several years, was a retired surveyor for the City of Macon for over 25 years, and later worked alongside his wife at Sam’s in Macon with the food samples promotion for a few years. He was a member of New Elim Baptist Church in Macon, GA, and enjoyed traveling, going on cruises with his family, watching westerns, and spending time with his canine companions, Annabelle. Truman was a dedicated husband and a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Along with his parents, Truman was preceded in death by his Wife, Gwendolyn Joyce Kilgore Sheffield, and his Siblings, Mary Eugenia Howard, Ruby Horne, Arthur Sheffield, Sol Sheffield, John Sheffield, and N.L. Sheffield.
He is survived by his Daughters – Charlotte Wilson (Jerry) and Sheila Mitchell (David), both of Lizella, GA; Grandchildren – Jery Wilson, Jr., Jeremy Wilson (Shenandoah), Charles Wilson (Tiffany), William Wilson (Lacy), Jacob Kimbrough (Michelle), Jordan Kimbrough (Emily), Shelly Cunningham (Colin), and Amber Youngblood (Bradley); Great-Grandchildren – Xander Wilson, J.B. Wilson, Raelynn Wilson, Waylon Wilson, Lilly Wilson, Elias Wilson, DeLaney Wilson, Skyler Ruest, Gwendolyn Kimbrough, Rowan Cunningham, and Liam Kimbrough; Sisters-in-law – Tanya Kilgore, Sharon Payne (Ronnie), and Marjorie Beck Sheffield; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Special Friend, Pat Hill.
The family may be contacted at the Sheffield residence, 3169 Whiteside Rd., Macon, GA 31216, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 5:00PM-7:00PM Friday, September 13.
