MR. SAMUEL BENNY “TONY” EVANS, age 82, of Eastman, GA, died Monday, August 16, 2021, at the Dodge County Hospital.

 Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, August 19, at Orphans Cemetery, with Rev. Tommy Thomas officiating.

 Tony was born and raised in Dodge County, of the Baptist Faith, and a 1957 graduate of Dodge High School, where he was an All-State basketball player. He was also a fantastic pitcher and was a former prospect for the Baltimore Orioles. He was a former member of the Georgia National Guard and worked for over 35 years for Robins AFB as a warehouseman until his retirement. Tony loved fishing, camping, and going to the casinos with his wife. He was a fan of the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers and was a die-hard Georgia Tech Fan. He was the son of the late Myrtice Register Evans and Samuel Woodrow Evans and was preceded in death by a Grandson, Blake Lee Evans and Sister, Frances Pittman.

 He is survived by his Loving Wife of 60 years – Jane Floyd Evans of Eastman; 2 Sons – Terry Evans (Melinda) of Eastman and Tracy Evans (Lindsey) of Centerville; 6 Grandchildren – Samuel Blake Evans, Abbie Bennett, Jonathon Bass, all of Centerville, Brady Blalock (Hannah) of Adel, Jessica Fussell, and David Fussell, both of Eastman; 2 Great-Grandchildren – Jeter Blalock and Maebry Blalock; Sister – Dale Stokes (Donnie) of Eastman; Brother – David Evans (Lisa) of Eastman; Several Nieces and Nephews.

 The family may be contacted at the Evans residence, 1104 Evergreen Circle, Eastman, and will receive friends at the family residence from 6:00PM-8:00PM Tuesday, August 17.
