MR. THOMAS CARL “TOM” PEACOCK, age 78, of Eastman, GA, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center in Macon, GA.

 Graveside memorial services will be held at 2:00PM Friday, February 28, 2024, at Plainfield Baptist Church Cemetery, with Mr. Matt Walker officiating.

 Tom was born on October 13, 1946, in Griffin, GA and was raised there during his formative years. He was a 1964 graduate of Columbus High School before earning a civil engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA. After graduating college, he moved to Nashville, TN and worked for the Tennessee Department of Transportation as a civil engineer. During this time that he met Nancy Wendling and in 1970 he was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed in Ft. McClellan in Alabama. In 1971 he and Nancy married in Nashville, TN.

Upon his release from service in 1972 he returned to Atlanta where he started his career as a civil engineer and earned his MBA from Georgia State University in 1975. Tom and Nancy began their family in 1976 with the birth of their daughter, Jennifer. In 1980 the family welcomed the birth of their son, Joshua. Tom worked for a construction consulting firm for several years before partnering with Howard Gleason and starting their own firm, Gleason Peacock & Associates.

In the mid-1990s Tom established his own construction consulting firm, Peacock & Associates while also being an arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association. Throughout his career, he traveled to many places around the world. One of his proud accomplishments was working on the undersea railway tunnel between England and France, also known as The Channel Tunnel.

Tom retired in the mid-2000s and moved to Plainfield, Dodge County, GA to be near his beloved cousins. He enjoyed reading books, collecting vinyl records, and spending time with his family. He was an active member of the Dodge Historical Society and a past treasurer. He was a beloved father, brother, and a dear friend to many. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rev. William Carl Peacock and Neva Reynolds Peacock and his nephew, David Braun.

 He is survived by his children – Jennifer Elizabeth Peacock of Washington, DC and Joshua Reynolds Peacock (Lia) of Los Angeles, CA; Sisters - Carol Murray (Bud) of Camdenton, MO, and Harriet Peacock (Jon Braun) of Marietta, GA; Cousins - Henry (Cheryl) Walker, and June Jones of Eastman, GA, along with their families; Former Wife – Nancy Wendling Peacock of Nashville, TN; Step Granddaughter – Lorelei Jobe of Nashville, TN.
