Obituary for Sue Taylor Coleman

MRS. LINDA SUE TAYLOR COLEMAN, age 77, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026.

Sue was born in Dublin, Georgia, and was the cherished first daughter of her late parents Dennard and Christine Taylor of Rentz. She was an honor graduate of Laurens County High School in 1966.

Upon graduation Sue began her family and settled in Eastman, Georgia, where for 40 years she was as a Teller at Citizens Bank & Trust, later Great Oaks Bank. Over the years of a long and meaningful career, her kind spirit and beautiful smile brightened many a customer’s day. She would be awarded employee of the year, receiving a Caribbean cruise that she so enjoyed. She loved the Eastman community and delighted giving sweet treats to the children that came to the bank with their parents.

Sue was a devoted Christian, her faith was her foundation and meant everything to her. She first began attendance at Snow Hill Baptist Church in Cadwell where she served as treasurer, and later attended First Baptist Church of Eastman where she was a choir member. Her love for the Lord gave her peace and strength throughout life’s journey, including her time as a breast cancer survivor.

Above all, Sue loved her family and her memory is forever cherished by them.

She is survived by her son, Damon Coleman (Cindy) of Warner Robins, GA; granddaughter, Lila Gingrich (Chad) of Carthage, NC; sister, Donna Manning (Phil) of Melbourne, FL; nephew; Matt Manning (Danielle) of Orlando, FL; niece, Kristina Cawthon (Ross) of San Antonio, TX; aunts, Bryleen Faulk and Gail Tesson of Laurens County; several cousins, special longtime friends Nell and JoAnn, bonus granddaughters Sydney and Sullivan, former spouse Tommy Coleman and relatives.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made, in Sue’s memory, to your local Breast Cancer or Alzheimer’s support organization, or Hospice Care service providers.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00PM on Monday, September 21, at Snow Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Cadwell. The family will receive friends in Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home in Eastman from 10:30AM-11:30AM Monday, September 21.
