MRS. GLENDA SUE PARKER MULLIS, age 82, of Grovetown, GA, died Friday, October 25, 2024, at Bryant Nursing Home in Cochran, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, October 29, at Southerland Funeral Chapel with interment in Zion Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Daniel Cook officiating.

Sue was born in Eastman, GA, on October 3, 1942, and was a member of Cottondale Baptist Church. She was a 1960 graduate of Dodge County High School and studied at Middle Georgia College. After finishing college Sue married her high school sweetheart, Sidney F. Mullis, and they began their lives in Cocoa Beach, Florida. They were happily married for almost 40 years until his death. Sue retired from the US Postal Service where she worked in Human Resources, a career spanning over 20 years. She loved her family very much and enjoyed their special times together. She loved reading and studying the Bible, especially books of prophecy and served for many years at Central Baptist Church in Warner Robins where she was a member of the sanctuary choir. She liked to travel with family and friends and her special friends Sherry and Donna. She was loved and affectionally known as “Grandma” to her Grandson, Julian. Sue was the daughter of Reuben C Parker and Lucille Davis Boutwell Parker and preceded in death by her Husband, Sidney Fulton Mullis, Son, Michael Jeffery Mullis, Sister, Valeria Boutwell Dyal, and Brother, James Boutwell.

She is survived by her Grandson – Julian Mullis (Erica) of Grovetown; Several Nieces and Nephews including – Faye Dyal, and Kathy Ward (Pat) both of Eastman, Carl Boutwell (Pat) and Deborah DeLoach both of Warner Robins, Sheila Dix (Keith), Dusty Hankinson, Denny Mullis, Christy Hunter, T.J. Collins, Victoria Mullis, and Makayla Wade (Will); In-Laws – Terry Collins of Eastman, Tim Mullis (Terrie) of Eastman, and Rosie Mullis of Cochran, GA; Several Great Nieces and Nephews, and Numerous Cousins and Friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association at act.alz.org and will receive friends at Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00-2:00PM Tuesday, October 29, 2024, and may be contacted at the Residence of Kathy and Pat Ward, 920 Jack Johnson Rd., Eastman, GA 31023.
