MRS. SUE JEAN SPIRES STONECYPHER-KNOWLES, age 77, of Palm Bay, FL, died Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at her residence.
MRS. SUE JEAN SPIRES STONECYPHER-KNOWLES, age 77, of Palm Bay, FL, died Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at her residence.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, October 31, at Red Hill Holiness Church, with Rev. Roswell Chapman officiating.
Mrs. Knowles was a native of Milan, of the Christian Faith, attended Telfair High School, and was a homemaker. During high school she worked at Stuckey’s Candy Company and married shortly afterward and began a family. She moved from Milan to the Kennesaw-Suwanee area and in 1969 she and her family moved to Melbourne Beach, FL and made it their permanent residence. She and her husband Charles served for many years as volunteer firefighters at the South Melbourne Beach Volunteer Fire Department. In the early 1990’s she returned to Milan and lived there for several years until returning to Florida to spend time with her sons. She was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed gardening, tending her flowers, fishing, cooking, and spending time with her family. Sue was the daughter of the late Mary Lou Selph Spires and Jerry Spires, widow of W.D. Knowles, and was preceded in death by her Former Husband, Charles Lloyd Stonecypher, 3 Sisters, Cecila Spires, Vernell Johnson, Bonnie Giles, and 3 Brothers, Gerald Wayne Spires, Samuel Kenneth Spires, Ronnie Spires, and Razzell Spires.
She is survived by her 2 Sons – Ricky Stonecypher of Palm Bay, FL and Michael Stonecypher of Malabar, FL; 5 Grandchildren – James Stonecypher of Palm Bay, FL, Mary Maslow (Tim) of Groveland, FL, Jacob Stonecypher (Natalie) of Wheeling, WV, Justin Stonecypher, and Nicholas Stonecypher (Peeraya) both of Tampa, FL; Great-Granddaughter – Charlotte June Maslow of Groveland, FL; Sister – Linda Harrell of Woodstock, GA; Brother – Buddy Spires of Eastman; Sister-in-law – Linda Spires of Milan; Brother-in-law – Randy Giles of Byron; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
