MR. STEVE ALAN WEST, age 65, of Hawkinsville, GA, died Sunday, August 29, 2021, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville.

MR. STEVE ALAN WEST, age 65, of Hawkinsville, GA, died Sunday, August 29, 2021, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville.

 Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, September 1, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Tracy Mays officiating, with a committal service at Parkway Memorial Gardens in Warner Robins at 1:30PM on Wednesday, September 1.

 Steve was born in Ft. Valley, GA, a 1974 graduate of Perry High School, a member of Unity Baptist Church in Warner Robins, and was a retired lineman crew leader for Flint Energies in Warner Robins for over 37 years. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and was very giving of his time and talents to helping others. He spent many hours studying scripture and was a very humble and pleasant man. Steve thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Papa”. They were the light of his life. He was the son of the late Ruby Hawkins West and Robert Graham West and was preceded in death by a Son, Wade Alan West, Mother and Father-in-law, Tom and Anne Colly, and 4 Siblings, Brent West, Ricky West, Judy Hammock, and Kenny West.

 He is survived by his Loving Wife – Marie Colly West of Hawkinsville; Daughter – Lainey West Christian of Perry; 2 Grandchildren – Colten Wade Miles and Layla Grace Miles; 2 Sisters – Lynn Barry of Fannin, GA and Vicki Stacey (Martin) of Byron; 3 Brothers – Jimmy West (Janice) of Andersonville, GA, Randy West (Dara) of Warner Robins, and Travis West of Perry; 3 Sisters-in-law – Pat Berg (Bill) of Warner Robins, Joy Quinones (Mike) of Eastman, and Cathy Day (Gary) of Crystal River, FL; Several Nieces and Nephews.

 The family may be contacted at the West residence, 176 Sloan Road, Hawkinsville, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 6:00PM-8:00PM Tuesday, August 31. In addition to flowers, the family request contributions to The ABBA House, 2089b Old U.S. 41 Rd., Perry, GA 31069.
