STERLING MORGAN SHIPMAN, age 21, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, June 26, 2022, at his residence.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, June 29, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Daniel Cook officiating.
Sterling was born in Warner Robins but has lived in Eastman his entire life. He was of the Baptist Faith, attended Dodge County High School, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding dirt roads, and being around his family and friends, especially spending time with his mother. He worked at Eastman Dodge Recreation Department as a ground’s keeper for several years, was a former employee at Gilmer in Cochran as a manufacturing packer, and a former worker at Huddle House in Hawkinsville. Sterling was preceded in death by his Father, Larry Dennis Shipman and an Aunt, Carol Dunn Adams.
He is survived by his Mother – Sherri Dunn Shipman of Eastman; Sister – Sierra Michelle Shipman of Hinesville; Brother – Kyle Shipman (Faith) of Hawkinsville; Maternal Grandmother – Demple Dunn of Eastman; Nieces and Nephews – K.J. Melvin, Kamdon Melvin, Cashmere Wells, Hunter Shipman, and Joyanna Shipman; Aunts and Uncles – Rex Dunn, Terry Dunn (Jo), both of Eastman, Terry Shipman (Penny) of Cochran, Vickie Sherman, Jerry Sherman, both of Old Fort, NC, Sherri Byrd (Bradley), and Jill Jennings (Bobby), both of Spruce Pines, NC; Close Family Friend – Liliane Sumner of Cordele; Numerous Cousins and Friends.
The family may be contacted at the Shipman residence, 363 Ocmulgee Church Rd., Eastman, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 10:30AM-11:00AM Wednesday, June 29.
