MRS. SONYA SAWYER JACKSON, age 49, of Eastman, GA, died Friday, November 27, 2020 at her residence.

Sonya was born in McRae, GA and was of Baptist faith. She was raised in Eastman and was a 1989 graduate of Dodge County High School. Mrs. Jackson was a retired cook for Side Track Cafe in Eastman and was a former warehouse manager for Pulaski State Prison in Hawkinsville. She also was a former employee at Captain D’s restaurant before moving to Forsyth to become a Captain D’s manager for several years. She was a loving daughter and sister who enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed shopping, running errands, taking care of her mother and had a love for animals, especially cats. Sonya was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Ray Sawyer.
She is survived by her Mother – Clara Strickland Sawyer of Eastman; 1 Sister – Lisa Sawyer Johnson (Terry) of Eastman; 1 Niece – Lilly Johnson of Eastman; Aunts and Uncles – Danny Strickland (Donna) of Rhine, Charlie Strickland (Ann) of Dawsonville, John F. Strickland of Rhine, Ronnie Sawyer of Chester, Wayne Sawyer of Milledgeville, Carolyn New (Woodrow) of Wrens, and Brenda Darsey of Dublin; Numerous Cousins also survive.
