MRS. SHERYL HARDIMAN YAWN, age 71, of Chauncey, GA, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021 at the Dodge County Hospital.

 Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, January 12, at Chauncey City Cemetery, with Rev. LaDon Connell and Rev. James Hammock officiating.

 Sheryl was a lifelong resident of Dodge County and a 1967 graduate of Dodge County High School. She was retired from Alcoa, having worked there for over 25 years. Sheryl loved cooking for others and was famous for her Brunswick Stew and pound cake. She enjoyed attending church, listening to gospel music, and was active at North Railroad Community Church. She liked to travel, especially with her friends Doris Evans and Gerry McCranie, and enjoyed crocheting gifts for others. Sheryl took great pride in her family and was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was the daughter of the late Margaret Hooks Hardiman and James Erwin Hardiman, widow of Jeff Yawn, and was preceded in death by her beloved Sister, Sandi Hardiman Stevenson Grimes, a Brother, James E. “Bimbo” Hardiman, Jr, and stepmother, Lily Hardiman.

 She is survived by her 4 Daughters – Tammie Lewis (Al), Tonya Lewis (Wally) both of Chauncey, Joni Gay (Jeff) of Milan, and Jessi Yawn (Angela) of Gainesville, GA; 7 Grandchildren – Justin Lewis (Brooke), Jordan Lewis, Jerald Gay, Jadie Gay, Joah Gay, Gracie Lewis, and Meg Lewis; 2 Great-Grandsons – Jayse Lewis and Judd Lewis; 3 Brothers – Bill Hardiman (Helen), Mike Hardiman (Susan), and Mark Hardiman (Mechelle); Sister-in-law – Daryl Harrison (Buddy); Brother-in-law – Steve Grimes; Special Family Friend – Bull Mosley; Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

 The family may be contacted at the Yawn residence, 577 Chauncey-Dublin Hwy., Chauncey. Sheryl will lie-in-state at Southerland Funeral Chapel from 11:00AM-4:00PM Monday, January 11.
