SHAD EDWARD SPIRES, age 45, of Eastman, GA, died Thursday, May 12, 2022, at his residence.

 Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Friday, May 20, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Daniel Cook officiating, with interment in Orphan’s Cemetery.

 Shad was born in McRae, GA, and raised in Eastman. He attended Dodge County High School and after high school he went to work in the logging industry in the surrounding counties and was also a carpenter for several years. He then learned the HVAC trade and helped many with heating and air over the years. He was a son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Shad enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, and attending the dirt track races in Dublin. He had spent the last several years helping his mother at her home. He was preceded in death by his Father, Joseph Robert Wright and his Daddy, Dessau Spires, Jr.

 He is survived by his Mother – Jennifer Wright of Eastman; Wife – Cynthia Barton Spires of Eastman; 2 Daughters – Catelyn Spires and Haley Spires of Eastman; Son – Caden Spires of Eastman; 2 Grandchildren – Brinlee Beck and Makaylin Muncy both of Eastman; Sister – Emily Sharna Dorris of Eastman; Step-Siblings – Andy Wright of South Carolina, Bruce Wright, Jeff Wright, both of Eastman, Paula Wright of Macon, Lisa Spires Fountain of Perry, Teresa Spires, and Belinda “Jenny” Fulford, both of Vidalia; 2 Nephews – Tyler Dorris of Eastman and Alex Dorris of Jacksonville, GA; 2 Brothers-in-law – David Barton and Randy Barton both of Eastman; Uncle – Leonard Upshaw of Eastman; Several Cousins and Numerous Friends.  

 The family may be contacted at the residence of Jennifer Wright, 65 William Way, Eastman, GA, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00PM-2:00PM Friday, May 20. In addition to flowers, contributions can be made to Cottondale Baptist Church, 5930 Leitch Street, Eastman, GA 31023.
