MR. SEABORN JACKSON “S.J.” ATTAWAY, age 78, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, December 3, 2023, at his residence.

 Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Wednesday, December 6, at Rock Branch Baptist Church, with Mr. Bobby Joe Ryals officiating, with interment at Rock Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

 Mr. Attaway was a lifelong resident of Eastman, GA, raised and worked on the Attaway Family farm as a child, and was a 1963 graduate of Dodge County High School. After school, he worked for over 35 years at the Reeves Brothers, Inc. until its closing in 1985. He then went to work at Armstrong Corp in Macon, for several years, and later worked in upholstery assembly at Bluebird for over 22 years. He was member of Rock Branch Baptist Church, where he was a former song leader for over 40 years and Chairman of the Deacons for over 30 years. He loved singing “Amazing Grace” and singing during the church services. S.J. was a dedicated husband of 59 years, and a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. He loved hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, riding horses, especially Trigger his Tennessee Walker, and he enjoyed mechanicing and tinkering on old cars and motorcycles. He was the son of the late Grace Mae Floyd Attaway and Seaborn Edgar “Ed” Attaway Sr. and was preceded in death by his Brother-in-law, Ricky Singletary, Sister-in-law, Judy Attaway, and Nephew, Russell Lee Treadwell.

 He is survived by his Wife – Carolyn Westbrook Attaway of Eastman, GA; 3 Daughters – Stacey Arnold (Donnie), Stephanie Grenade (Leon), both of Eastman, GA and Sandi Foskey (Michael) Chauncey, GA; Son – Jay Attaway (Amy Horton) of Eastman, GA; 10 Grandchildren – Jason Dunlap (Buford), Tyler Grenade (Rachael), Shane Dunlap (Heather), Slade Dunlap (Mercedez Barton), Ashley Johnson (Freddie), Jessi Cranford (Josh), June Clements (Andy), Seab Attaway, Alyssa Dominy, and Zack Attaway; 25 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Sisters – Shelby A. Singletary of Eastman, GA and Margarette A. Treadwell (Dale) of Chauncey, GA; 4 Brothers – Benson Attaway, Steve Attaway (Debra), Keith Attaway (Brenda) and Eddie Attaway (Gail), all of Eastman, GA; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

 The family may be contacted at the Attaway residence, 4242 WPA Rd., Eastman, GA, and will receive friends in Rock Branch Baptist Church from 1:30PM-3:00PM Wednesday, December 6. In addition to flowers, the family requests contributions to Rock Branch Baptist Church, Chauncey, GA 31011.
