MR. CLARENCE RUSSELL WATSON, age 82, of Eastman, GA, died, Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at his residence.

 Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Jerry Peele, Rev. Clay Layfield and Rev. Greg Lowery officiating, with interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cadwell.

 Mr. Watson was born in Cadwell, GA, a graduate of Cadwell High School and a member of Eastman First Baptist Church and the Chapel Sunday School Class. He was a retired Insurance Agent who served his customers for over 41 years and was owner and operator of Watson’s Grave and Vault Service since 2008. Russell was the former owner and operator of The Village Barn, a member of Team National for many years, and a member of the Eastman Jaycees for many years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and socializing with his friends. Russell was the son of the late Clarence James Watson and Alberta Register Watson and was preceded in death by 6 siblings, Atha Knight, Annie Mae Coleman, Doris Evans, Betty McCullars, James Ollis Watson, and Julian Watson.

 Survivors include his Wife of 62 years – Virginia Bush Watson of Eastman; Daughter – Elaine Watkins (Mike) of Milan; Son – Eddie Watson (Sharon) of Ellaville; 5 Grandchildren – Mikaele Atha (Rusty) of Loganville, Eric Watson (Jessica) of Watkinsville, Brittany Burk (Brad) of Pinehurst, Megan Thomas (Jesse) of Rhine, and Brandon Watkins (Mary Margaret) of Milan; 8 Great-Grandchildren – Rylan Keith Atha, Lillian Catherine Atha, Beverly Kathren Burk, Adeline Katherine Thomas, Jacquelyn Claire Watson, William Banks Burk, William Russell Watson, and Ava Leigh Thomas; Sister – Judy Gilreath (Larry) of Dublin; Brother-in-law – Wayne Evans of Dublin; Sister-in-law – Joyce Bush of McRae-Helena; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

 The family may be contacted at the Watson residence, 844 5th Avenue, Eastman and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 6:00PM – 8:00PM Wednesday, April 21, 2021. In addition to flowers, contributions may be made to the Eastman FBC Building Fund, 5107 Oak Street, Eastman, GA 31023 and the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 40 Cadwell, GA 31009.
