MR. ROBERT MITCHELL “BOB” NUTT, JR., age 75, of Eastman, GA, died Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Piedmont Hospital in Macon, GA.

MR. ROBERT MITCHELL “BOB” NUTT, JR., age 75, of Eastman, GA, died Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Piedmont Hospital in Macon, GA.

 A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

 Bob was born in Eastman, GA, and was a member of Central Baptist Church. He was a 1967 graduate of Dodge County High School. During his school years, he assisted his father at Hardin and Nutt Candy Company on the distribution routes. After high school, he worked at Harrell Canning Company for a short time before going to work at Stuckey’s Candy Company where he worked in the office in supply management. Later he worked at Blue Bird Body Company as a forklift driver. He joined the National Guard and in 1974, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served in the 1st Infantry “The Big Red One” in Germany. Upon returning home to Eastman he went back to Blue Bird to resume his career, completing a combined 25 years. He married his wife Pat on May 31, 1985, and their daughter B.J. was born in 1989. He was a father to three children, Adam, Valerie, and B.J. and was affectionately known as “Bob” and Daddy. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved duck hunting especially, and enjoyed taxidermy. He enjoyed grilling and cookouts with family and friends. Bob was a gun enthusiast and a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA). He was a dedicated husband and a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Bob was the son of the late Pearl Johnson Nutt and Robert Mitchell Nutt, Sr and was preceded in death by his Brother-In-Law, Karl Urban.

 He is survived by his Wife – Patricia “Pat” Leitner Nutt of Eastman, GA; Son – Adam Rodgers (Jodi) of Dry Branch; Daughters – Valerie Ford (Brandon) of Cochran and Bobbie Jeanne “B.J.” Putnal (James) of Juliette, GA; Grandchildren – Drew Clark of Wadley, AL, Taylor Ford and Ella Ford of Cochran, Tanner Putnal of Juliette, GA; Sisters – Michelle Urban of Birmingham, AL, and Cathy Atkinson (Curtis) of Eastman, GA; Brother – Mike Nutt of Gresston, GA; Sisters-in-law – Cindy Jordan (Jere Bush) of Osteen, FL, and Dale Mullins (Joe) of Melrose, FL; Brother-In-law – Larry Leitner (April Faidley) of Colfax, IA; Several nieces and nephews.

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Midway Baptist Church, 44 Lightered Knot Rd, Eastman, GA, 31023, and may be contacted at the Nutt residence, 302 Midway Church Rd., Eastman, GA.
