GWENDOLYN REGINA WESTBROOK BURKHALTER, age 84, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, December 17, 2023, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, Friday, December 22, at Southerland Funeral Chapel with Brother Chuck Simpson officiating, with interment in Friendship Baptist Church in China Hill.
Regina was born in Colquitt, GA, in 1939 and was of the Holiness faith. She lived in Bartow, FL, as a child and attended Bartow High School. She worked at Ben Hill Griffin Nursery in Frostproof, FL, for over 20 years before moving to Milan, GA. She raised 7 children and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She enjoyed fishing, canning, family, visiting her sister in Lake City, FL, and reading her Bible daily. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Corine Westbrook and is preceded in death by her Husband, John M. Burkhalter, Sr., 3 Children, Billy Conners, Wayne Burkhalter, and Gwendolyn Kirkland, and 3 Siblings, Fletcher Westbrook, Eli Westbrook, and David Westbrook.
She is survived by Her 2 Daughters – Maria Kersey (George) of Wauchula, FL, and Sherry Miller (Jimmy) of Central City, PA; 2 Sons – Marty Conners (Linda) of Avon Park, FL,, and Michael Burkhalter (Tobbie) of Eastman; 15 Grandchildren; 33 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great Grandchildren; Sister – Virginia Gibbons (Bob) of Lake City, FL; 2 Sisters-In-Law – Jan Westbrook and Judy Westbrook; Several Nieces and Nephews.
