Obituary for Raymond Roderick Sr.

MR. RAYMOND STANLEY RODERICK, SR., age 87, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville, GA.

 A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

 Raymond was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan where he worked in the auto industry, for General Motors and Ford, until he was 24. He later moved to Montclair, California with the rodeo training horses and competing in events. In 1970 he moved to Eastman and established Ray’s Used Cars in 1974, which he operated for many years. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Raymond was the son of the late Pansey Fortner Roderick and Clyde Syren Roderick and was preceded in death by his Loving Wife, Martha Wright Roderick, Son, Raymond “Ray” Roderick, Jr., Granddaughter, Paige Mitchum, and 7 Siblings, Eugene Roderick, Charles Roderick, Robert E. Lee “Bob” Roderick, Joanne Roderick, Marilyn Hubbard, Don Roderick, and Janet Roderick.

 He is survived by his Daughter – Robin Potter (Loyd) of Eastman; Son – Lon Roderick of Eastman; Daughter-in-law – Cindy Roderick of Eastman; 6 Grandchildren – Braxton Singleton, Christopher Potter, Megan Moore (Matt), Amber Holland (Trey), Nicole Baker (Gene), and Eric Roderick (Megan); Grandson-in-law – Josh Mitchum; Several Great-Grandchildren; Sisters – Lois Roderick and Donna Frazee, both of North Carolina; Several Nieces and Nephews.
