MR. RAY CLEVELAND WIGGINS, age 72, of Eastman, GA, died Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Sunday, September 29, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. George Fluellen officiating, with interment in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
Ray was born in Eastman, GA on November 22, 1952, and raised in the Mt. Ararat Community of Dodge County. He attended Dodge County High School, was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, and was a farmer for many years. He later graduated from the Heart of Georgia Structural Technology program in Eastman and worked for the Heart of Georgia Community Action Agency remodeling and weathering homes for several years. He opened Wiggins Insulation and Home Improvement in the late 1980s and enjoyed working as an insulation contractor for over 30 years and was also a bail bondsman for several years. He was a dedicated and loving father who enjoyed riding horses, going to horse shows, being on his farm, and spending time with his family and friends. Ray was the son of the late Grace Shepard Wiggins and James Otho Wiggins and was preceded in death by his Sister, Rose Marie Brantley, and Brothers, Charles Otho “Charlie” Wiggins and Furman Wiggins.
He is survived by his Son – Jonesy Wiggins (Janth Sarusal) of Eastman, GA; Daughter – Krista Wiggins of Atlanta, GA; Former Wife – Janice Wiggins of Eastman, GA; Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law – Patsy Wiggins and Bill Brantley, both of Eastman, GA; Nieces and Nephews – Terry Brantley (Allie), Steve Brantley (Sherine), Jason Wiggins, and Kelly W. White (Ron); Several Great-Nieces and Nephews, and Numerous Cousins and Friends.
The family will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 2:00PM-3:00PM Sunday, September 29.
