MR. RAYMOND STANLEY “RAY” RODERICK, JR., age 66, of Eastman, GA, died Friday, March 31, 2023, Atlanta Northside Hospital.

 A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00PM Tuesday, April 4, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Jack Wright and Dr. Donnie Sutton officiating, with interment in Sweet Home Baptist Church Cemetery.

 Ray was born in Ypsilanti, MI, a member of Chauncey Baptist Church, and a 1974 graduate of Dodge County High School. He later graduated from Central Georgia Technical College with his certification as an electrical technician. After graduating, he worked at Dublin Communication for several years before later going to work for Cellular One. He later retired with 21 years of service from Verizon Wireless after it purchased Cellular One. Ray loved riding motorcycles, traveling, hunting, fishing, spoiling his grandchildren and his canine companion, Chewie. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Martha Delane Wright Roderick and his Father-in-law, Henry “Judge” Powell.

 He is survived by his Loving and Dedicated Wife – Cindy Powell Roderick of Eastman; Daughter – Nicole R. Baker (Gene) of Pitts; 2 Grandchildren – Simon Baker and Doni Rae Baker; Father - Ray Roderick, Sr. of Eastman; Sister – Robin Potter (Lloyd) of Gresston; Brother – Lon Roderick of Gresston; Mother-in-law – Doris Wahl Powell of Chauncey; Sisters-in-law – Susan Clements (Albert) and Beth Sheffield (Craig); Brother-in-law – Bruce Powell (Janie); Numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

 The family may be contacted at the Roderick residence, 83 Trent Drive, Eastman, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 2:00PM-3:00PM Tuesday, April 4. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to Sweet Home Baptist Church, % Susan Clements, 753 Marion Sheffield Rd., Chauncey, GA 31011.
