MR. RANDY RAY FORBES, age 62, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, January 24, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family.

 Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM, Thursday, January 28, at Woodlawn Cemetery, with Rev. Ronnie Jones officiating. The family encourages that masks be worn and social distancing be practiced during the funeral services.

 Randy was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a member of Central Baptist Church, and attended Liberty Baptist Church. He was a 1976 graduate of Dodge County High School, a former insurance agent for Life of Georgia for several years, a former mechanic and truck driver for the Dodge County Road Department, and a former waste management technician for the Dodge County Landfill. He also worked for several years as a truck driver for Burch Family Farms and worked as a prison guard for over 10 years for the Telfair State Prison. Randy was a dedicated and committed husband and a wonderful, loving, caring and thoughtful father and grandfather who enjoyed playing music and was inducted into the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame. He played at the VFW in Cedar Grove for about 20 years and also performed at various other venues including the Hog Pin, MC’s Restaurant, and Little Nashville in Dodge County. He was the son of the late Merita Hendrix Forbes and Richard Forbes, Sr., and was preceded in death by his loving, doting, dedicated, devoted, dependable, and faithful, Wife of over 43 years, Cathy Lee Forbes and 2 Brothers, Ricky Forbes, Jr. and Larry Forbes.

 He is survived by his 2 Sons – David Svendsen and Andy Svendsen (Shelley) both of Eastman; 5 Grandchildren – Callie Svendsen Lowery (Brandon), Cameron Svendsen, Danielle Svendsen Brooks (Josh), Delila Svendsen, and Shea Svendsen; Sister – Debra Jean Jones (Charles) of Jacksonville, FL; Several Nieces and Nephews and Numerous Cousins and Friends.

 Randy will lie-in-state from 11:00AM-3:00PM, Wednesday, January 27, at Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home.
