MR. RALEIGH WESS MULLIS, age 62, of Eastman, GA, died Saturday, February 15, at Augusta University Medical Center in Augusta, GA.
A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00PM-7:00PM Friday, February 21, at Southerland Funeral Chapel.
Raleigh was born on August 27, 1962, on base at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, GA. He was of the Baptist faith, a 1980 graduate of Dodge County High School, later attended a Diesel Mechanic School in Atlanta, and was a talented mechanic and worked at several garages throughout the Dodge County area over the years. He later worked as a pecan farmer for Cross Creek Plantation for the last five years. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother who enjoyed fishing, riding four wheelers, driving fast cars, and working on anything and everything, especially race cars. He could always be counted on for a good joke, loved his work, enjoyed all the time he was able to spend with his family and friends, and loved watching NASCAR and was a huge Jeff Gordon fan. Raleigh was preceded in death by his Father, Charlie B. Mullis, Daughter, Jessica Rae Mullis, Siblings, Mitchell Mullis and Melody Mullis Burch, and Mother-in-law, Jeanie Loveridge.
He is survived by his Wife of 12 years – Britney Tomita Mullis of Eastman, GA; 8 Children – Holly Mullis (Cale Hilliard) of Rhine, GA, Melissa English (Clint) of Cochran, GA, Erin Boyle (Kelsey) of Fernandina Beach, FL, Coltton Johnson, Damian Johnson (Karina Cruz), Caitlyn Johnson (Adrian Devora), all of Abilene, TX, Ashley Johnson (Nick Hulett) of Dexter, GA, and Amber Johnson (Meka Nnadi) of Dublin, GA; Grandchildren – Austin Noles, Noah Grimes, Ryan Addison, Caden Attaway, Kason Caruthers, Dakota English, Trace English, Avery Johnson, Wes Hulett, and Myles Boyle; Mother – Eleanor Earlene Parkerson Mullis of Eastman, GA; Brother – Kenneth Mullis (Alicia) of Dublin, GA; Father-in-law – William Tomita of Magna, UT; Aunt and Uncle – Louise Parkerson Gulledge of Riverdale, GA and Allen R. Mullis of Eastman, GA; Several Nieces and Nephews and Numerous Cousins.
