MRS. FRANCES PAULINE “POLLY” WOODRUM VEAL, age 77, of Helena, GA, died Thursday, June 17, 2021, at her residence.

 Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, June 19, in Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Roswell Chapman and Rev. Jim Fennell officiating, interment in Zion Hope Cemetery.

 Mrs. Veal was born in Eastman, GA, of the Holiness faith, and a 1961 graduate of Dodge County High School. She married in 1966 and moved to Helena where she raised her family and resided for the rest of her life. Polly worked as a cashier at Piggly Wiggly for over 20 years before taking a job with the Dodge County Board of Education as a Paraprofessional where she worked before retiring after 18 years of service. She was a dedicated worker and worked several jobs over the years including working on the family farm. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, gardening, and keeping a tidy home. She especially loved helping others and putting their needs before hers was always a priority. She was the daughter of the late Howard Woodrum and Annie Ray Phagan Woodrum and was preceded in death by her Husband of 35 years, Howard Lanier Veal.  

 She is survived by her 2 Daughters – Tracy Veal Holland (Chris) of Helena and Kelli Veal LaFavor (Scott) of Helena; Son – Joey Veal (Marsha) of Chauncey; 4 Grandchildren – Kyle Spires of Helena, Breanna LaFavor of Helena, Kristen Holland (Jessy Evans) of McRae, and Marlee Veal of Chauncey; Great-Granddaughter – Bristol Evans of McRae; 2 Sisters – Doris Nicholson of Eastman and Bobbie Hart (Ned) of McRae; Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law – Judy Yawn (Rusty), Rita Edge (Scott), Lisa McCranie (James), Cecil Veal, John Dykes (Vicki), and Sharon Veal; Aunts and Uncles – Pat Stephens (David), George W. Payne (Sue), Elizabeth Payne, and Mary Payne; Several Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces, Great-Nephews, and Numerous Cousins and Friends.

 The family may be contacted at the Veal residence, 6263 McRae Hwy., Helena, GA, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 12:30PM-2:00PM Saturday, June 19.
