MRS. PHOEBE BEULAH McLEOD LOWERY, age 87, of Milan, GA, died Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin.

 Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, September 14, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Benny Moore officiating, with interment in Milan Cemetery.

 Mrs. Lowery was born in Rhine, was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, and in recent years attended Rockwell Baptist Church. She was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant for Dodge County Hospital, Middle Georgia Nursing Home and McRae Manor. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She had a true love for music and majored in piano and was known in Telfair and Dodge Counties for her talent and teaching ability. Phoebe was born to her biological parents, Beulah McLeod McCranie and John Calvin McCranie and raised by her parents, Mattie Cook McLeod and Edward McLeod. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Lowery, son, Timmy Lowery, daughter, Jimmie D. McCranie, and 4 siblings, Thelma Jones, Beatrice Southerland, Lydia Ragan, and Floyd McCranie.

 Survivors: 2 Daughters – Billie Faye Scarborough (Lonnie) and Gloria Ussery (Jerry), both of Milan ; 2 Sons – Jack Lowery (Cathy) of Albany and Carl Lowery (Dena) of Milan; 7 Grandchildren – Scotty Lowery, Tonya L. Dugger, Mandy S. Newsom, Heather L. Smoyer, Scott Lowery, Carl Lowery Jr., and Lil’ Phoebe Ussery; Several Great-Grandchildren and Several Great-Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews; Caretaker – Peggy Lancaster of Milan; Dear and Special Friends – Susie Harrell of Eastman and Shirley Dix of Rhine.

 The family may be contacted at the residence of Gloria and Jerry Ussery, 404 Telfair Line Road, Milan, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 6:00PM-8:00PM Friday, September 13.
