MRS. PEARL BELFLOWER SOUTHERLAND, age 95, of Eastman, GA, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at the Dodge County Hospital.

MRS. PEARL BELFLOWER SOUTHERLAND, age 95, of Eastman, GA, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at the Dodge County Hospital.

 Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, November 27, at Woodlawn Cemetery, with Rev. Joe Daniel officiating, with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.

 Mrs. Pearl was born in the Roddy Community where she attended Roddy School, and later graduated from Chester High School in 1943. After high school she went to work at Robins AFB and later worked at Cook Banking Company in Cochran. She married Warren E. Southerland, Sr. in 1947. She began working for Dr. Long for a few years until she and Warren moved to Nashville, TN in 1950 while he was enrolled at Gupton Jones Mortuary College. They moved back to Eastman after he graduated and resided there for the rest of her life. She and her husband owned and operated Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home for over 30 years where she was a licensed funeral director. After her retirement, she enjoyed many wonderful years with her husband and spending time with her family. She was a member of Eastman First Baptist Church and the Hope Sunday school class. Pearl was the daughter of the late Lola Careene Waller Belflower and Matthew Arnold Belflower and was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Warren E. Southerland, Sr., son, Warren E. Southerland, Jr., an Infant Daughter, 7 siblings, Alton Belflower, Linton Belflower, Wilton “Bill” Belflower, Levi Belflower, Trudy B. Fountain, Jewel B. Young, and Berta Mae Wright.

 She is survived by her Daughter – Ann S. Peacock (James) of Eastman; Daughter-in-law – Joy J. Southerland of Eastman; 6 Grandchildren – Warren E. “Wes” Southerland, III (Sandy), Wil Southerland (Jill), Gant Southerland (Susan), Shelli Goodman (Tony), Abby Peacock, and Tracy Harrell; 14 Great-Grandchildren – Caroline Southerland, Lyndey Southerland, Ansley Kate Southerland, Grant Goodman, Graye Goodman, Ganon Goodman, Sydney Southerland, Briana Southerland, Presley Fountain, Keira Southerland, Silas Southerland, Hunter Harrell, Hayden Harrell, and Brandon Randall; Sister-in-law – Sarah Ruth Belflower Smith of Cochran; Numerous Nieces and Nephews including Wendell Fountain and Betty Belflower Stoetzer who were raised in the Belflower family home.

 The family may be contacted at the residence of Ann and James Peacock, 1050 Wood Valley Drive, Eastman. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Gideons International Bible Fund or Eastman FBC Building Fund. Mrs. Southerland will lie in state in Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home on Friday, November 26, from 1:30PM until 5:00PM.
