Obituary for Patricia Seagraves Moore

MRS. PARTICIA PRIDE SEAGRAVES MOORE, age 75, of Hobbs, New Mexico, died Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at her residence.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, August 31, at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Moore spent most of her life in Eastman, Georgia. She was married to David L. Moore and mother to Jamie and Carol Ann; step mother to Chris. She was grandmother to Meredith Graham, Caleb Moore and Chloe Moore, all of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Anna Scott, Adeline, and Aubrey Wieler of Canton, GA. Jamie is married to Sonya Moore, and Carol Ann is married to Scott Wieler.

Patricia was of the Christian faith and was a member of Eastman First Baptist Church. During her time in Eastman, she was a homemaker and dedicated wife and mother and later worked as a manager at Video Superstore for several years. In early 2008 Patricia moved to Canton, GA to be closer to her daughter and family. While there, she made lifelong friends in her neighborhood. Janet, Eilieen, Cindy, Bonnie, Charlie, and the rest of the ladies’ breakfast group remained close with Patricia after she moved to Hobbs, New Mexico in 2019. Patricia moved to New Mexico to spend her later years with her son Jamie and his family.

Patricia truly loved the beach. That was her favorite vacation spot. Any beach would do! Her last beach trip was to South Padre Island, Texas and she truly enjoyed it.

In April 2022, Patricia suddenly became ill and was diagnosed with Leukemia. Her battle was short, but valiantly fought. She had wonderful visits with her family and close friend Janet before she made her final exit. She was the daughter of the late Gussie Sewell Seagraves and Edgar Seagraves and was preceded in death by her Husband: David L. Moore in 1988; and a Son: Chris Moore.

The family will receive friends following services at Woodlawn Cemetery in Eastman Wednesday, August 31. In addition to flowers, the family request contributions to the donor’s favorite charity.
