MRS. PATRICIA ANN HOWELL THOMPSON, age 78, of Eastman, GA, died Friday, December 6, 2024, at Heart of Georgia Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, December 10, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Arnold Rye officiating, with interment in Cottondale Baptist Church Cemetery.
Patricia was born on July 26, 1946, in Eastman, GA. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, a graduate of Dodge County High School, and worked at Taylor Egg Plant in Plainfield, GA for a short time. She married Edward Thompson on March 10, 1974, and began her family. She was a dedicated wife and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who was affectionately called “Grams” and “Granny” by her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She enjoyed listening to music on the radio, watching soap operas, listening to Patsy Cline and bought many of her records. Patricia loved going to church, being around her family and friends, and was always there for her family. She was the daughter of the late Gertrude Dukes Howell and James Howell and was preceded in death by a Son, Randy Howell.
She is survived by her Husband of 51 years – Edward Thompson of Eastman, GA; Children – Wanda Layman (Teddy) of Hawkinsville, GA, Eddie Thompson (Glinda) of Cadwell, GA, Amanda Hall (Josh) of Eastman, GA, and Jason Thompson (Tonya) of Jacksonville, GA; 12 Grandchildren – Jonathon Howell (Jessica), Kyle Howell (Erica), Cam Taylor (Suzannah), Christopher Layman, Jacob Layman, Tommy Thompson (Tori), Cortney Tanner (Willis), Marissa Hall, Tessa Hall, Madeline Hall, Kileigh Thompson, and Crickett Thompson; Great-Grandchildren – Carson Taylor, Randy Howell, Jax Howell, Grant Howell, Lane Howell, Kale Howell, Kaleb Howell, and Kaden Howell; Sisters – Polly Oxley, Sandra Stapleton (Rick), Rachel Oxley (Billy), all of Gresston, GA, Linda Lott (Mike) of Empire, GA, and Jan Graham (Bob) of Eastman, GA; Brothers – Robert Junior Howell of Gresston, GA and Frank Howell (Susie) of Eastman, GA; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
The family may be contacted at the Thompson residence, 2996 Reedy Branch Rd., Eastman, GA, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00PM-2:00PM Tuesday, December 10.
