OSCAR RICO CERVANTES, age 35, of Eastman, died Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Monday, November 1, at St. Mark Catholic Church, with Father John Stephen Ariko officiating, with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Oscar was born in Tepalcatepec, in the state of Michoacán, Mexico. He immigrated to the United States when he was 16 and he and his father moved to Gainesville, GA, where he learned how to install flooring with his father and brother. He then moved to Dublin in 2008 with his fiancé and later moved to Eastman in 2014. In 2016, he and his fiancé opened and operated Garcia’s Restaurant until they sold the business in 2019. After selling the restaurant, Oscar went to work with Dale Thompson at the Flooring Gallery as a flooring instillation specialist. Oscar was a wonderful person who enjoyed spending time with his children, fishing, and playing volleyball with his family and friends.
He is survived by his Fiancé – Alejendrina Solorio of Eastman; Daughter – Mia Solorio of Eastman; Son – Juan Armando Godoy of Eastman; Father – Ranulfo Rico Rodriguez of Eastman; Mother – Nelida Cervantes of California; Brother – David Rico Gallegos (Maria) of Gainesville, GA; Sister – Alma Rico Cervantes (Gaston Medina) of Houston, TX; 5 Nieces; Numerous Cousins and Friends.
The family will receive friends in St. Mark Catholic Church, 1687 Hawkinsville Hwy, Eastman, GA 31023, from 10:00AM-11:00AM Monday, November 1.
