MR. OSCAR JERALD PEACOCK, age 77, of Eastman, GA passed away peacefully Thursday, June 19, 2025, at his residence with family members surrounding him.
MR. OSCAR JERALD PEACOCK, age 77, of Eastman, GA passed away peacefully Thursday, June 19, 2025, at his residence with family members surrounding him.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, June 21, 2025, in Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Lewis Miller and Dr. Al Daniell officiating with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Jerald was born January 27, 1948. He was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, and a member of Grace Baptist Church. He was a 1965 graduate of Dodge County High School, and he later studied pre-Pharmacy at Middle Georgia College before receiving his pharmacy degree at the University of Georgia in 1972. Jerald was a retired Pharmacist. He worked for over 30 years combined with Eldercare Pharmacy, Revco, and Eastman Drugs. He was a dedicated Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle who loved his family dearly and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan who watched every game and cheered them on loudly. His most current hobby and favorite activity was helping Robin keep their precious one year old grandson, Canaan. He was the son of the late Oscar Franklin Peacock and Grace Jump Wright and was preceded in death by his stepfather, Dixie Wright, Grandmother, Minnie Mae Jump and his brother-in-law, Ronnie McGlamry.
He is survived by his Wife of 33 years – Robin Joiner Peacock of Eastman, GA; Daughter – Sara Grace Peacock Jessup (Cayne) of Dudley, GA; Sons – Kristopher Peacock of Macon, GA and Jerred Peacock of Oviedo, FL; 3 Grandchildren – Canaan Jessup of Dudley, GA, Seth Peacock of Macon, GA, and Marley Peacock of Warner Robins, GA; Sister – Nell McGlamry of Eastman, GA; Parents-in-law – Billy and Joan Joiner of Eastman, GA; Sisters-in-law – Jill Johnson of Eastman, GA, Sophia Danforth (Bobby) of Eastman, GA, and Nikki Corn (Jamie) of Dallas, GA; Nieces and Nephews – Kelli Rice (Carl Anderson), Darrin McGlamry (Cothee Tomaini), Zach Danforth (Katie), Jacob Danforth (Liz), Sandi Purinton (Jared), Patrick Johnson (Jessica), Eli Corn, Atticus Corn, and Oliver Corn; Several Great Nieces and Nephews – Michael “Bucky” McGlamry, Kathryn McGlamry, Ethan Rice, Evan Rice, Abigail Rice, Maggie Danforth, Parker Purinton, and Cullen Purinton; Several Cousins and Numerous Friends.
The family may be contacted at the Peacock residence, 909 Willow Way, Eastman, GA, 31023, and will receive friends from 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Southerland Funeral Chapel. In addition to flowers, the family requests donations be made to Grace Baptist Church Kids for Christ, 421 Hawkinsville Hwy, Eastman, GA 31023.
