MRS. NELLIE MAE BURNAM FRANCOIS, age 76, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, March 27, 2022, at the Medical Center Navicent Health in Macon, GA.

 Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, March 30, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Shannon Boula officiating, with interment in Vilula Baptist Church Cemetery.

 Mrs. Francois was born in Eastman and raised in Rhine and was of the Baptist Faith. She was a 1963 graduate of Dodge County High School, and a graduate of Nursing School. She was a nurse’s aide for several years before becoming a nurse. She worked as an LPN for many years before retiring from Community Mental Health in Dublin in the early 2000s. Mrs. Francois was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed puzzles, fishing, riding, and traveling, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She also loved her canine companions, Mixon, Bug, and Reno. Nellie was the daughter of the late Irene Burch Dykes and Arthur Burnam and was preceded in death by her son, Charles Jones, stepdaughter, Angela Jones May, and sister, Emogene Burnam Hayes.

 She is survived by her Husband of 11 years – Gene H. Francois of Eastman; Daughter – Tina Jones Clements (Lonny) of Rentz; Son – Joey R. Jones of Warner Robins; Step-Son – Jeffery Wammack of Eastman; 6 Grandchildren – Ashley Williams (Devonte) of Dublin, Sierra Matthews (Trey), Heather Pittman (Wynnon), Kelly Dunlap (Jeremy), Elizabeth Rykard, Brad Balderston (Diane), all of Eastman, and Justin Reeves of Warner Robins; Several Great Grandchildren; Brother – Arthur Stacey Burnam of Eastman; Uncle – Wright Burnam of Macon; 2 Nieces – Terri Hayes of Eastman and Gloria Singletary (Noe Gonzales) of Lyons.

 The family will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 10:00AM-11:00AM Wednesday, March 30.
