MRS. NANCY BARLOW WINANS, age 83, of Chauncey, GA, died Saturday, May 13, 2023, peacefully surrounded by family and her loyal canine companion, Missie.

 A celebration of life service for family and friends will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, May 16, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Ronnie Jones officiating. A family private graveside service will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery with Mr. Eddie Barlow officiating.

 Mrs. Winans was born in Eastman, GA and was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Dodge County High School and a retired Inspector for Anchor Glass Container Corporation in Warner Robins. Nancy was a dedicated wife and a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt. She enjoyed taking care of her family, cooking, working in her yard, and tending her flowers. Nancy loved music, ice cream, traveling and telling stories from the past. For many years, she was a nursing home ministry volunteer at Heart of Georgia and Crescent Ridge. She was affectionately known as “Granny” and was a friend to many and enjoyed spending time with them. Nancy was the daughter of the late John T. Barlow, Sr. and Evelyn Westbrook Barlow and was preceded in death by her husbands, Dean Fountain and Charles L. “Chuck” Winans, and 6 siblings, Sarah Barlow, June Barlow, Alton Barlow, J.T. Barlow, Jr., Gerald Barlow, and Sonnie Barlow.

 She is survived by her Daughter – Tammie Smith Rothwell (John) of Gainesville, GA; 2 Sons – Troy D. Fountain of Eastman and Wade Fountain (Cheryl) of Chauncey; 6 Grandchildren – Shelley Bazemore (B.J.), Sloan Gunn (Cory), Lane Fountain, Marley Mullis, Isabella Mullis, and Danielle Dominy (Wesley); 6 Great Grandchildren – Riley, Brantley, Braxton, Skyler, Kyleigh, and Sophie; 4 Sisters – Janelle Payne of Eastman, Mae Browning (Sandy) of Cedar Grove, Gail Tomlinson (Steve) of Nashville, GA, and Joyce “Cricket” Griffin of Watkinsville; 2 Brothers – Zelton Barlow (Ann) and Felton Barlow (Susie), both of Eastman; 2 Sisters-in-law – Sharon Barlow and Jimmie Barlow, both of Eastman; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

 The family may be contacted at the residence, 42 Bussy Street, Chauncey, GA 31011 and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00PM-2:00PM Tuesday, May 16. The family request contributions to Gideons International Bible Fund or flowers may be sent for the service.
