MRS. JOHNNIE HILLIARD REWIS, age 67, of Milan, GA, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, December 1, 2025.

MRS. JOHNNIE HILLIARD REWIS, age 67, of Milan, GA, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, December 1, 2025.

 A graveside service will be held at 3:00PM Wednesday, December 3, at Sand Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Aubrey Corbitt officiating.

 Johnnie was born in Eastman, GA on July 15, 1958, to the late Martha Emma Bracewell Hilliard and Newt “Pip” Hilliard. She graduated from Telfair County High School in 1976, and later attended Columbus State University in Columbus, GA. She worked as a library assistant at Telfair County High School for over thirteen years and enjoyed her time working and helping shape the hearts and minds of the students at Telfair County High School over the years. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Milan, loved listening to music, watching the soap opera “The Young And The Restless” every day, and following her husband, Kenny, when he would go fishing or when he played at different venues with some of the many bands he played with over the years. In addition to her parents, Johnnie was preceded in death by her Sister, Laverne Spires, and Brother, J.C. Evans.

 She is survived by her Husband – Kenneth “Kenny” Rewis of Milan; Sister – Willaree Hulett of Milan; Brother-in-law – Herman Spires of Rhine; Nieces and Nephews – Greg Evans (Cenith), Randy Evans (Linda), Paula Spires, Alexis Asbell (Bryan), David Hulett (Michelle), Michelle Floyd (Brett), Danielle Smith, and Nicole Hulett; Numerous great-nieces and nephews, and countless friends.

 The family will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00PM-2:15PM on Wednesday, December 3.
