MRS. EUNICE LEE NEWMAN LAW, age 90, of Eastman, GA, died Monday, November 9, 2020 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, November 12, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Ron Whittington and Rev. Lewis Miller officiating, with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Eunice was a lifelong resident of Dodge County and a member of Grace Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Middle Georgia College. After 50 years of dedicated nursing, she retired from Dodge County Hospital at the age of 78, where she was known as the “IV Queen”. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved and cherished her family. When Eunice wasn’t spending time with her family she could be found in her garden tending to her flowers or raising small dogs. Eunice was the daughter of the late Robert Newman and the late Rufus and Videlia Davis Hendrix. She is preceded in death by her Husband of 58 years, Hoyt “Red” Law, Grandsons, Lee Whittington and Nicholas Massingill, Special Friend, Clarence Burch, 2 Sisters, Vernie Hendrix Finch, Bertie Neman, and 3 Brothers, W.J. “Dub” Hendrix, Ernie Hendrix, and Buddy Newman.
She is survived by her 2 Daughters – Iris Huckabee and Gwen Whittington both of Eastman; 4 Grandsons – Robbie Massingill (Keisha), Bradley Huckabee (Erica), Ron Whittington (Chloe), all of Eastman, and Shane Kitchens (Autumn) of St. Simons Island, GA; 6 Great-Grandchildren – Elizabeth Massingill (Ben Lee), Caleb Clark, Wesley Huckabee, Maya Whittington, Aaron Kitchens, and Jackson Kitchens; 2 Sisters-in-law – Willene Newman and Paula Hendrix; Several Nieces and Nephews.
The family may be contacted at the residence of Iris Huckabee, 35 Eagle Ridge Drive, Eastman. Mrs. Eunice will lie-in-state from 11:00AM-4:00PM Wednesday, November 11. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Grace Baptist Church, 421 Hawkinsville Hwy, Eastman, GA 31023, or The Church on Griffin, 415 Griffin Avenue, Eastman, GA 31023.
