MRS. MORAG CHRISTINE MAY MACKAY JONES, age 67, of Chauncey, GA, died Friday, February 3, 2023, at Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center in Macon.

 A celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, February 7, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Mr. Ashton Jones officiating.

 Mrs. Jones was born in Inverness Scotland, Great Britain in 1955 and was of the Christian faith. She graduated school in 1970. Morag met her U.S. Navy husband Joe, who was stationed in Scotland, and they married in 1972. A year later they transferred back to the States, where they began and raised their family, while Joe continued their service in the United States Navy. Upon Joe’s retirement from service in 1990 the family returned to Dodge County and settled in Chauncey, GA where they reside today. Morag was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, who lived to take care of her family. She also enjoyed gardening & spending time outdoors. She loved her family dearly and stayed in touch with the many friends she met along life’s path. She and her husband Joe were inseparable and enjoyed over 50 years of marriage. She was the daughter of the late Catherine Anne “Nan” Jack Mackay and John Mackay.

 She is survived by her Husband of 50 years – Joe Robert Jones of Chauncey, GA; 2 Daughters – Connie Jones Hayes (Paul) of Warner Robins and Elizabeth Jones Broomer of Eastman; 2 Sons – Jason Jones (Lynn) of Macon and David Jones (Jenny) of Gray; 9 Grandchildren – Chloe Grenade (Seth) of Glenwood, Colt Warnock of Warner Robins, Ciaran Jones of Eastman, Jake Jones of Eastman, Jase Jones of Eastman, Paisley Jones of Gray, Brianna Jones (Ethan) of Abbeville, Trent Simmons (Kaitlyn Gaskins) of Gray, and Ashton Jones of Gray; 4 Great Grandchildren – Brynleigh Grenade, Waylon Jones, Wyatt Jones, and Riverlynn Jones; 2 Brothers – Alexander Mackay (Claire) and Edward Mackay (Beryl) both of Scotland, Great Britain; In-Laws – Johnnie Mae Rogers (Bo) of Eastman, Joyce Spires of Rhine, Charlie Jones (Linda) of Jacksonville, GA, Herman Jones (Wanda) of Eastman, Betty Ward of Augusta, Janie Sue Powell McRae and Kim Lowe (Jim) of Jacksonville, GA; Several Nieces and Nephews.

 The family may be contacted at the Jones residence, 5316 McRae Hwy, Chauncey, GA and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 10:30AM - 11:00AM on February 7.
