SHARON MELISSA “MISSY” SMITH, age 52, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, July 3, 2022, at her residence.

 A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00PM Friday, July 8, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Mike Grenade officiating.

 Missy was born in Albany and moved to Eastman when she was a child. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and worked as a journeywoman electrician and licensed contractor for many years. She recently graduated from The Ultimate Medical Academy with a degree in medical coding. Missy loved to paint, singing, camping at the river, fishing, going to the beach, and taking care of her children and everybody else’s children too. She also loved taking photos of her family so she could keep up with everyone’s lives. She was a great mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who always strived to help others and put their needs above her own. Missy was the daughter of the late Myrtice Ouida Lee Smith and John Thomas Smith and was preceded in death by a Sister, Carol Carpenter, and 3 Brothers, David Sheffield, Bobby Sheffield, and Thomas Sheffield.

 She is survived by her Husband – James “Bud” Jones of Eastman; 5 Daughters – Heather Johnson (Keith) of Gray, Selena Duron, Katie Duron, both of Eastman, Meredith Jones Duncan (Wesley), and Brittany Jones, both of Vidalia; 5 Sons – Michael Johnson, Eric Johnson, both of Eastman, Dustin Johnson (Brittany) of McRae, Junior Duron, and Isaac Duron, both of Eastman; 4 Grandchildren – Hunter Johnson, Colton Johnson, Rustie Johnson, and Nolan Johnson; 4 Sisters – Jennelle Toller, Betty Storey, Sandra Dykes, and Shirley Wright; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.

 The family may be contacted at the Smith residence, 45 Flint Drive, Eastman, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 2:30PM-3:00PM Friday, July 8.
