LARRY MICHAEL “MIKE” FARMER, age 72, of Winter Haven, FL, formerly of Dodge County, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
LARRY MICHAEL “MIKE” FARMER, age 72, of Winter Haven, FL, formerly of Dodge County, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, August 5, at Lovely Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Myron Parkerson officiating, with interment in Lovely Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mike was born in Eastman, GA on January 26, 1954, to the late Dixie Ann May Farmer and Willie Franklin Farmer. He was a member of Lovely Grove Baptist Church and attended school in Dodge County, before the family moved to Sallisaw, OK, in the early 1970s, where he graduated from Sallisaw High School in 1973. After high school he moved back to Eastman and worked as a peanut inspector before making his way to Winter Haven, FL, where he worked for Minute Maid and Coco Cola as an inspector for several years. He later began a career with the United States Postal Service, as a postal mail carrier in Winter Haven, for over 36 years.
Mike was always a man of his word. His favorite saying was “A man is only as good as his word”. He was a loving family man, who was admired and loved by all his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who affectionately called him “Papa Mike”. He enjoyed reading about American History, especially Civil War history, and he loved watching western tv shows and collecting anything western themed.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Jeffrey Robertson.
He is survived by Daughter – Kimberly Farmer Morgan (Daniel) of Winter Haven, FL; Son – Dale Farmer (Heather Ard) of Winter Haven, FL; Grandchildren – Kyle Remsgar (Shania), Kaelyn Remsgar Legg (Hunter), Katie Remsgar Williamson (T.J.), Mallory Farmer, Garrett Farmer, and Cameron Wilson; Great-Grandchildren – Kelso Legg, Kolter Legg, Karsyn Remsgar, Kylie Morgan, and Amy Morgan; Sister – Melissa Farmer Robertson of Eastman; Brother – Greg Farmer (Marchia) of Hayesville, NC; Nieces and Nephews – Cori Robertson (Kyle Smith), Josh Farmer (Leslie Bentley), and Casey Farmer (Sherri); Numerous Cousins.
The family will receive friends in Lovely Grove Baptist Church from 10:00AM-11:00AM Wednesday, August 5. In addition to flowers, the family requests contributions to Lovely Grove Baptist Church, 877 Lovely Grove Church Rd., Eastman, GA 31023.
