MR. MICHAEL ALLIGOOD, age 67, of Cordele, GA, died Monday, August 22, 2022, at his residence.

 Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, August 24, at Parkerson Baptist Church Cemetery, with Mr. Gerald Gay officiating.

 Michael was born in Eastman in 1954 and was of the Baptist Faith. He attended West Telfair Academy and worked as a groundskeeper for over 25 years at several golf courses throughout the southeastern states including Oakview Golf Course in Macon. He lived in Macon for many years until his wife passed earlier this year and later moved to Cordele to be with his daughter and her family. He was a huge Georgia Bulldogs Fan, an avid sports fan, and was a talented athlete during his high school years. He excelled at basketball and golf and loved fishing with his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was the son of the late Martha Fountain Alligood and Julius James Alligood and was preceded in death by his Wife, Debbie Alligood, and 9 Siblings, Mary Jean McDaniel, Lamar Alligood, Etheridge Alligood, Lillie Bell Allen, Mamie Lee Parkerson, Lillian Kemp, Essie Conley, Clementine Devine, and Franklin Alligood.

 He is survived by his 3 Daughters – Amy Nipper (Richard) of Cordele, Kortney Gay (Gerald) of Milan, and Bonnie Wells (David) of Narrow, VA; 12 Grandchildren – Tyler Kent (Hannah Walker), Will Ledford, Gage Abbott, Cody Abbott, Dylan Abbott, Luke Abbott, Destiny Bennett, Sierra Bennett, Isaiah Bennett, Sharrisa Wells, Johnny Wells, and Neveah Wells; 6 Great-Grandchildren; Sister - Geraldine Nichols (Jeff) of Eastman; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

 The family may be contacted at the residence of Gerald and Kortney Gay, 1172 Hwy 165, Milan, GA, 31060, and will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM Tuesday, August 23. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to the American Cancer Society.
