MRS. MENNIE VICKERY JONES WRIGHT, age 86, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, May 5, 2024, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, May 8, at Sweet Home Baptist Church, with Dr. Donnie Sutton officiating, with interment in Sweet Home Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mennie was born in Telfair County, a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church, and a former employee at Stuckey’s Candy Company for several years. She later moved to Baltimore, MD with her husband, where they resided for over thirteen years. They later moved to Milan, GA, to be closer to their family. Mennie loved her church and her church family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who enjoyed camping, traveling, cooking, fishing, and tending to her flowers. She was also an avid animal lover and had three special cats who were her babies. She was the daughter of the late Leila Vickery and Forest Gordon Vickery and was preceded in death by her Husband, Ralph Jones and John James Wright, Daughter, Wanda Hawn, Son, Randy Wright, and her Siblings, Annal Lee Reece, Effie Wright, John Vickery, and James Vickery.
She is survived by her Son – Greg Wright of Milledgeville, GA; Son-in-law – Steve Hawn of Eastman, GA; Granddaughters – Sandi Harvey (Chris), Stephanie Treadwell, and Amanda Stacks; Great-Grandchildren – Josh Dupree (Amanda), Ryan Harvey, Logan Hardy (Ty Belflower), Andrew Hardy (Skye), Grant Hardy (Madison), Tyler Wright, Brannon Stacks, and Dalton Stacks; 7 Great-Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great-Great-Granddaughter; Sisters – Mae Mosley of Loganville, GA, Ruby Bowen of Midville, GA, Elizabeth Hendrix of Jeffersonville, GA, and Audrey Wright of Eastman, GA; Brothers – Cleve Vickery (Willie Mae) of Milledgeville, GA and Willis Vickery of Macon, GA; Sisters-in-law – Peggy Miller, Jean Thomas (Kenneth), and Patsy Mayo (Nick); Numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
The family may be contacted at the residence of Steve Hawn, 366 Hightower Rd., Eastman, GA, and will receive friends in Sweet Home Baptist Church from 1:00PM-2:00PM Wednesday, May 8.
