MRS. MELBA JULIA LANCASTER BOYKIN, age 81, of El Dorado, AR, formerly of Milan, GA, died Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Baptist Hospital in N. Little Rock, AR.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, October 23 at Antioch #2 Baptist Church in Milan, GA, with Rev. Jack Lee officiating, with interment in Antioch #2 Baptist Church Cemetery.

Melba was born in Milan, GA on June 15, 1943. She was a member of Antioch #2 Baptist Church and was the Salutatorian of her graduating class at Milan High School. She married Oct. 20, 1963, and was blessed with two daughters and a son. She and her husband moved to El Dorado, AR in 1992, where she resided until her passing. Melba was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a homemaker, enjoyed gardening, and loved baking, sewing, needlework, reading, and most of all, spending time with her family. She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Jones Lancaster-Smith and Murdoch Lee Lancaster.

She is survived by her Husband – James Herman Boykin of El Dorado, AR; Daughters – Mary Boykin of Beaufort, SC and Emily B. Robbins (Johnny) of Macon, MS; Son – James Herman “Jamie” Boykin, Jr. (Shelley) of Joaquin, TX; Grandson – Hal Tommie Reed Robbins of Macon, MS; Sister – Cecelia L. Yancey (Terry) of Milan, GA; Brother – Ronnie Lancaster (Elaine) of Milan, GA; Several Nieces and Nephews including – Ronda Lancaster Sanders (Clint), Lee Lancaster (Keri), and Jack Yancey (April); Aunts – Doris Fussell, Annette Wood, Linda Vaughn, and Joan Jones; Numerous cousins and friends.

The family may be contacted at the Lancaster-Smith residence, 122 Cook Street, Milan, GA, and will receive friends in Antioch #2 Baptist Church from 10:00AM-11:00AM Wednesday, October 23.
