MRS. MARILYN WOMMACK BARNETT, age 85, of Eastman, GA, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at her residence.

 Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, January 21, at Lovely Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev Patrick Barnett officiating. The family request that masks be worn and each person observe proper social distancing.

 Marilyn was born on December 30, 1935, to the late Wade and Iris B. Wommack. She was a 1953 graduate of Cedar Grove High School, where she was a member of the 1952 girls’ basketball state championship team. After marrying in 1953, she served as a dedicated military wife until her husband’s retirement in 1970. She later worked as the office manager for TG&Y in Eastman and as a department manager for the Eastman Wal-Mart.

 Marilyn was a member of Greenlawn Baptist Church, where she faithfully served for over 40 years. She was a long-time Sunday School and VBS teacher, where she had the opportunity to share God’s love and saving grace with generations of children. In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her Husband of 51 years, Grady Barnett, Brother, Wayne Wommack, Son-in-law, Wayne Selph, and Grandson, Jonah Barnett.

 She is survived by her 2 Daughters – Diane Selph of Eastman and Iris Jo Gandy (Jim) of Hortense; 3 Sons – Grady Barnett, Jr. (Lisa) of Yorktown, VA, Michael Barnett (Brenda) of Hawkinsville, and Patrick Barnett (Lynice) of Eastman; 17 Grandchildren – Regina Beckham (Jim), Stacie Whitley (Josh), Joey Selph (Kristi), David Selph (April), Anna Barnett, Austin Barnett (Elizabeth), Carson Barnett, April Burney (Jeremy), Christopher Burrell, Christopher Gandy (Shelly), Daniel Gandy, Michael Gandy, Ross Barnett (Breanna), Katie Barnett, Erin Caskey, Michael Payne, and Johnny Porter (Vicki); 25 Great-Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great-Grandchild; Sister – June White (Wayne) of Cedar Grove; Brother – Jimmy Wommack of Cedar Grove; Several Nieces and Nephews.

 The family may be contacted at the residence of Patrick and Lynice Barnett, 110 Woodlakes Drive, Eastman. Marilyn will lie-in-state from 10:00AM-2:00PM Wednesday, January 20. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital www.stjude.org
