MRS. ROSALIND MARIE LINDSEY HESS DIXON, age 76, of Eastman, GA, died Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Dodge County Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Monday, January 20, 2025, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Trey Benton officiating, with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Marie was born in Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, LA, on March 31, 1948, and was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She was a 1966 graduate of Hahira High School and received her degree in Nursing from ABAC. She moved from Valdosta to Eastman in 1988 and served as a Registered Nurse at Dodge County Hospital before retiring after 20 years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved cooking, traveling, and doing crafts. Mrs. Dixon was the daughter of the late Nellie Mae Weldon Lindsey and Matthew Robert Lindsey and was preceded in death by her Husbands, Gary Hess and Randall Dixon, Brothers, Owen Lindsey and Wayne Lindsey, Stepdaughters, Jamie Dixon and Wendy Dixon.
She is survived by her Daughters – Suzanne Peterson (Keith) of Eastman and Jennifer Arnold (Wesley) of Jackson, GA; Grandchildren – Mary Hess Pruett (Tyler), Karoline James (Jensen Rainey), Anna Kate Arnold, James Arnold, Zachary Dixon, Hannah Bryant, Brett Peterson (Casey), Chelsea Holder (Chris), Tyler Peterson, and Chris Peterson (Anna); Great Grandchildren – Abbott, Cohen, Meredith, Amelia, Addie B., David, Jack, Brady, and Mazie; Sister – Betty Gray of Hahira, GA; Brothers – Kenneth Lindsey (Gail) of Perry, GA, and Matthew Lindsey (Vicki) of Hahira, GA; In-Laws – Sandra Lindsey of Hahira, GA and Marilyn & Spencer Hall of Chatsworth, GA; Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
The family may be contacted at the residence of Suzanne and Keith Peterson, 52 Amanda Drive, Eastman, GA, 31023 and will receive friends at Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00PM-2:00PM Monday, January 20.
