MRS. MAMIE CLYDE (CARR) YOUNG McMAHAN, age 92, of Cadwell, GA, died Saturday, December 3, 2022, at her daughter’s residence in Mershon, GA.

 Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, December 6, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Ronnie Young officiating, with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery with Rev. John Young officiating.

 Mrs. Mamie Clyde was born in 1929 in Laurens County, and a member of Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church of Cadwell. She attended school in Cadwell in her formative years. After finishing grade school, she married William Herbert Young Jr., and began her family which would grow to include 14 children. She lived in several places in Georgia for many years while raising her family. She was a seamstress at Shamrock Manufacturing in Dublin and C&J Manufacturing in Eastman as well as a Pentecostal Preachers wife. Mamie Clyde was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Later in life, she married Vernon McMahan, and they lived in Swainsboro, GA, until the mid-2000s when he passed. Years later she moved back to Cadwell to be near family. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, playing piano, crossword puzzles, singing in the church, and was dedicated and faithful to her church. She was the daughter of the late Evelyn Garnto Carr and William Artis Carr and was preceded in death by her husbands, Rev. William H. Young Jr. and Vernon McMahan, Daughter, Susan Young Graham, Son, Rev. Phillip Young, Sr., and Infant Daughter, Laura Evelyn Young, Daughter-in-law, Villetes Young, Son-in-laws, Lotis Lawrence and Randall Graham, and Siblings, Roy Carr, Ralph Carr, Alma Carr Barnett, Grace Carr Haley, Emma Lou Carr Knight, and Mattie Mae Carr Williams.

She is survived by 6 Daughters – Barbara Lawrence of Alamo, Elaine Mullis (Randall) of East Dublin, Jane Widener (Gary) of Eastman, Debra Beasley (Rev. Chester) of Baxley, Cherry Rewis (Gary) of Mershon, GA, and Rosemary Jones (Rev. Ron) of Eastman; 5 Sons – Rev. John Young Sr. of Vidalia, Rev. Ronnie Young (Tammy) of Cadwell, Monty Young (Tammy) of Dublin, Danny Young (Jennifer) of Grand Bay, AL, and David Young of Eastman; Daughter-In-Law – Lynn Young of Dublin; Numerous Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and Great-Great-Grandchildren; Sister-In-Law – Willa Mae Beckham of Wrightsville; Several Nieces and Nephews.

 The family may be contacted at Rev. Ronnie Young residence, 2589 Hwy 117, Cadwell, GA, 31009, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 6:00PM-8:00PM Monday, December 5.
