Obituary for Lyman Yawn

MR. LYMAN HAROLD YAWN, age 75, of Eastman, GA, died Thursday, December 6, 2024, at Heart of Georgia Nursing Home.

 A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

 Lyman was born in Eastman, GA on June 27, 1949. He was of the Christian Faith, a 1968 graduate of Dodge County High School, and worked at the Eastman Cotton Mill until its closing. He later worked for Haynes Shirt Factory until its closing before retiring from the Eastman YDC, where he worked in the maintenance department for over fifteen years. Lyman loved watching old westerns, was passionate about classic cars and enjoyed watching the Barrett Jackson Auctions and enjoyed fishing. He had a huge heart and was willing and open to helping anyone. He enjoyed telling stories about the past and most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Lyman was the son of the late Evie Ellen Sheffield Yawn and James Yawn.

 He is survived by his Daughter – Stephanie Ramirez of Macon, GA; Son – Lance Yawn of Sandersville, GA; Grandchildren – Julietta “Jewels” Herron, Gabriel Yawn, Starla Guevara, and Stormy Yawn; Sister – Tina Yawn of Eastman, GA; Brothers – Larry Yawn of Eastman, GA and Danny Yawn of Hawkinsville, GA; Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
